Laborer-(Part-Time)
Sanitation
Head Plumber
DOE
Under general supervision, protects the assets of Santa Clara Pueblo by assisting in the
completion of construction projects.

This job description is illustrative only of the responsibilities performed by this position and is not
all inclusive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works under the direction of the Head Plumber and/or Maintenance Specialist with completing projects.
  • Performs all duties and tasks assigned by Head Plumber and Maintenance Specialist.
  • Works in construction, rehabilitation, reparation and creation of structures, developments, and maintenance of Tribal structures.
  • Lo.ads and unloads lumber, equipment, stone, pipes and other building materials.
  • Lifts, carries, transports, and holds building materials, tools and supplies.
  • Operates power tools as needed.
  • Keeps tools clean and in good working condition.
  • Uses hand tools to bolt, nail, align construction.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and after hours to assist with emergencies.
  • Must be current, or become current with appropriate NIMS (National Incident Management System) Courses for the position, (ICS-100, ICS-200, and 1-700).
  • Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Able to understand and do detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of hand & power tools.
  • Computer experience helpful but not necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 6 months experience or training.
  • Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License and be insurable through the Tribe's carrier.
  • Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within a five (5) year timeframe from any Tribal, State, or Federal Court.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol test.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and
fingers, to handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk,
and reach wing hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance;
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move
up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical
parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather
conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high,
precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is
usually loud.
